Team Invictus C-Class training in Weymouth Portland harbor UK. Wind speeds between 4-8 knots. We were just playing with keeping in the ‘groove’ whilst sailing down-wind in light winds. This involves sitting well inboard and flying the windward hull as gently as possible. The boat is working up towards doing the next edition of the Little Americas Cup in Newport, Rhode Island in late august. Last weekend, whilst practicing, we managed to capsize the boat. Fortunately we only received relatively minor damage and were able to get back on the water the following weekend… as you see here. It was a successful weekend in that we were able to sail and develop the boat and put it away in one piece. This means that the shore/development team can focus on performance modifications rather than repairs. It really is a wonderful boat to sail and we all take great pleasure in it. There is still a lot of performance to come. A black band was put around the top of the mast in respect for the passing of Reg White who was one of the founding fathers of the C-class movement.
